Hey Gang.
Just a quick note to let you know the reasoning for my lack of updates. I have basically stopped using the web site for the last several weeks and only wanted to post in a limited fashion, because a couple of days before we went to Nashville, I was told by my web host that I needed to move the files and database to a different server. I took a backup of the web site at that time, and I didn’t want many changes to the backup and such until after it was done.
Well, it should be finished now, there may be something screwy here or there, but for the most part, everything is changed over just fine. I have a few more things I need to work on, but as of now, nearly full functionality should be good on here. And I’ll get back to fairly regular updates (as regular as they used to be anyway) to those of you that care.

I’ve decided to finally embrace the tags. Actually, it’s not that I had anything really against the tags to begin with, just I never added them to the main pages, so I never bothered entering them.
In any case, I finally got around to it, as you can see, These are kind of a replacement for categories, though I will still use both to some degree because I like filtering the RSS feeds, and I haven’t played with the tags enough to know if you can filter the RSS feeds on the tags.
But now they exist at the bottom of every post, and a tag cloud sidebar is also created. It will grow over time. I will be adding tags to many of the older posts on a case by case basis when I get around to it. Probably sometime after I get around to finally purchasing a new machine. My old one is on it’s last legs…
It’s pretty simple if you’ve never used any before. If you see a topic of interest over in the tag cloud, you can click on it to see the other posts with that tag. It should help for finding old information a little bit better. The bigger the text in the cloud. The more posts that I’ve written on that subject.

If he actually goes through with not accepting funds from the economic stimulus based on principles that were already put to a national vote and proven unpopular, he will lose his job.
That is all.
Oh, and I like the quickpress thing, but it doesn’t let you put it into categories…

I’m upgrading the Picture Gallery and the Version of WordPress that I’m using for this site.
Also, since not a whole lot of people in the family are actually posting as well. I’m going to go to the two columns, and personalize this a bit more. I’m going to post a bit more, and the picture gallery will rotate random photo’s and recent photo’s that i’ve posted.
That being said, even though I will do more (just uploading pictures) type of updates where there’s no post, but my recent photo’s will be available for anyone to view, (and comment on now to by the way). That doesn’t mean that other members of the family can’t still post blog messages, and photos. If you would like to be able to do this, just let me know and I’ll be happy to set you up with an account and walk you through how to do this. (when it’s finished of course, i’ve still got some minor things to finish up, when I get a chance).

Much to Valerie’s chagrin, I finally decided that it was time to buy a new computer. The last computer I bought was the Gateway Laptop which was sold several years ago now. I was technically still relegated the old dell machine, although I’ve been making due for a long time now.
Anyway, so I purchased a new machine and it came today. I’m still getting familiar with it now. But I have officially joined the ranks of apple users. I purchased a Macbook. I thought about the pro as well, but I kind of wanted a smaller laptop that was lighter weight. And I don’t really play games on the computer anymore so I wasn’t worried about the video card or anything. Not to mention the fact that it’s much cheaper than a Macbook Pro. Which at this time is better, since we’re still on a tight budget with the larger house payment and all.
Anyway, I’ve used apple machines in the past, along with playing with Linux and the like so I’m fairly familiar with Unix, so it was good to see a mainstream OS be based on UNIX.
It’s pretty awesome so far, I’m still installing lots of applications and the like. And I’ll probably be picking up parallels and playing with the Windows emulation soon as well.
I have no idea how to do any sorts of development or anything on here yet. I still probably need to find a good text editor and stuff.
On another note…
Some friends had me renew their domain name. One I’m hosting on the same server as this website. Anyway, I’ve been updating their pages and layout as well over the last couple of days. And one of the things that I’ve done is worked on putting in new Gallery software. This one is way better than the one that I’m using here on Boothenet. Does more integration with wordpress and the like. So I’ll probably be putting it on this site as well. Not sure when I’ll get used to it. And I’ll move all the pictures from the current gallery into it as well. But I just thought I would let you know my intentions.
Oh well,
