Just a quick update to let people know I made it back from my visit to Mom this weekend. She called me while I was on the way there to make sure I was bringing the Kids. I’m sure if I didn’t have the kids with me, she wouldn’t have allowed me to come!!!

Anyway, and a nice visit. On Saturday I did get to use my coupon to go see the Watchmen for free. Now I don’t feel so bad shelling out 20 bucks for the Motion Comic, seeing as how I saved $7 on the movie ticket.

I liked it. I think I like it just as much as I liked the book. Of course, they had to make some sacrifices, but the key elements are there. Which is really all you can hope for in a movie.

The kids had a good time too, they always enjoy visiting Mom, but the visits are always so short, they lead such busy lives.

Yayy!! This coming weekend is MidsouthCon. I’m sure I’ll say more on that later. But for now it should be enough to know I am starting to get a little excited.

Hope everyone is doing good, just wanted to drop a quick line to let you know we are all fine over here. The weather has been fantastic, cool nights and warm (80’s) days…. Kinda makes ya want to by a piece of land and build a hooch!

Been a fairly busy week, lots of broke stuff to be worked on,,,, and have been getting stuff fixed lately, not the “slump” I was in a couple of weeks ago.

Did not realize it had been so long since I posted,,,, that how busy its been…

Got a few pictures, Jim Garner took a couple of me working with the guys on a ROWPU (Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit, for those that dont want to google it). These things provide the fresh water we use for everything from showers to brushing the teeth, the unit needed a couple operational to ship to another location,,,, so yours truely gets the call….. We got three of the four working, had to sacrifice one for parts…

Working on a ROWPU

This one is me and SGT Z working on the valves and the next one is venting the system

Hey machines need to “vent” just like humans do!

Think it gets muddy around ROWPU’s? especially when they are being repaired and are leaking all over the place?

Here is one that the guys were trying to move,,,, no luck in this greasy mud the truck was going nowhere!

stuck truck

Well, gotta go eat, just wished Jo a “Happy Valentine’s Day” so now I will wish one to all you too….. Especially Chelsea, Sarah and Olivia (My Trio of Little Valentines)

Here is a nice sunset from the other day, one of the best lately!

I visited mom this weekend. Val had to go to Texas to shoot against UTEP and someone else… TCU I think. So since the kids and I were alone. We decided to go visit mom.

I was kind of hoping to this weekend. Because this is the only weekend of the whole year that Atlanta Gamefest is going to happen. It’s a little sad that the hotel contracts and all didn’t really work out for Ward anymore and he can’t continue on the past schedules. But I did want to make sure I made it for the last one. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t as kind and I couldn’t stay as long as I would have liked. But I did get some good games in with some of my friends from the past Atlanta Gamefests.

On Sunday. I had no desire to really get home that quickly. So Mom and I decided to go on over to Monkey Joe’s then eat lunch before we head home. Well. I’m at Monkey Joe’s right now and since there’s not a lot to do for the adults. I thought I’d make a post. I went ahead and uploaded some pictures too.

Here’s Mom

And I got a nice picture of Olivia too.

Here’s Olivia on the Inflatable posing.

And here’s Sarah Sliding down one of the inflatables

And Sarah on top of one of the inflatables posing.

The concept of Monkey Joe’s is freaking Brilliant. It’s a safe place for kids to run around. It doesn’t cost a whole lot of money. There is free Wifi. There are nice tables. It would be an awesome place for some gamers with kids to meet up and play while letting little children run around.

Anyway. I guess I’ll play around a bit on the internet and stuff some more before packing it up and driving home today.

I’m sitting here at Dad’s house right now trying to show mom how to do some of these things on the computer. She was complaining about things like not getting the emails from dad turns out she couldn’t find the icon for Outlook Express. Dad tried to get it on the desktop for her, but she wasn’t aware of which icon she should be clicking on.

I got some of dad’s emails that he sent and told her to view to come up. So she got to see the sandstorm video. Then as I was doing this, I realized, that I never installed that Gallery Software on here like I wanted to. I can’t believe that. I got to working on a project for work with their website, and never took care of it. It looks like I won’t be able to do that for at least another couple of weeks.

I am having a pretty good time here though. Mom and I took the kids to Monkey Joe’s today. She was a little bit worried about Olivia though because the last time Olivia went she fell and cut her head a little bit and had to get some staples. But all was well and the kids had a blast. That place is kind of cool. I noticed that they have free Wi-fi, if I’d have realized that I would have taken my computer. That’s kind of cool though, we need one of those in Oxford. But the space would probably cost too much.

I took a couple of pictures at Monkey Joe’s but I won’t be able to download them from the Camera until I get home.

Anyway. I’ll post again in a couple of days and try to get a couple of pictures of the kids and Mom up here.

Later all.
