So, this weekend, I decide to go out and mow our yard and do some other various yardwork.

Thus spurring on this conversation.

Me: I need to mow the yard. Can I borrow your headphones.
Wife: Yeah, *searches for a few minutes*
Me: You find them yet?
Wife: No, can you not find your headphones?
Me: Yeah, mine are on my desk, but I don’t like wearing them when I mow because they get all gross and sweaty.
Wife: *Stops Searching*.

I just don’t get it.

It’s been a while since I tried this, but I’m going to embed a youtube video here. I think.

Hopefully, this comes out right. I would like to do this a little more in the future. Since getting the little pocket HD Video camera, and the new iMovie ’09 I’d like to try putting together some more of these little kinds of videos. Hopefully you guys like them.

So, here’s some video of Sarah & Olivia goofing off outside playing with some sidewalk chalk.

And yes, I know I went a little bit overboard with the transitions and the Titles and stuff, I’m still trying to figure out how to do all that stuff. So indulge me.

Anyway. Enjoy.

Just wanted to drop in and give you guys a few updates on the Southern Chapter of the Boothe Family.

Val and Olivia are heading down to Phenix City, AL to visit mom this weekend. Val’s recruiting at the Smallbore Olympic Trials at Fort Benning. I think she’ll be down there for a couple of days. Sarah would go, but she’s about to finish from the Second Grade. Her last four days are this coming week. So me and Sarah will sit at home cleaning up getting ready for a couple of big events. I’m sure we’ll play a couple of things this week as well. I’ll try to snap a few pics since without Val and Olivia here, I might have a bit of free time.

We’re getting ready for a big Birthday Celebration here. Olivia will turn four June 2nd, and Val’s rented one of those inflatable bouncy castle things for a small party here at the house. So some of Olivia’s school friends will come down to the house and bounce for a few hours. That party barring rain looks like it will happen on June 1st. We’ll try to get some pictures up from that fun time.

I’m having a party next Saturday. Since we have a long weekend coming up. We’re going to throw a Saturday Gaming Party on the 24th. Looks like two or three guys from Memphis, and another couple of guys from Tupelo will game with me and KF this coming Saturday. I hope to get in some good stuff. Wouldn’t mind playing a little Age of Steam, it seems like ages since I’ve played.

Till later.
Chris.

Yes, I used to keep this very Family Oriented, and would only post data when I had new pictures, or notes, or something rather important to say. Well, as you can see, I’ve decided instead to mix it up and post more often. There are actually a couple of reasons for this.

  1. With the implementation of the categories that I started using when Dad also came over to start posting, coupled with the extra feeds that I’ve added to the bottom which can filter posts out based on the categories (check them out in the sidebar under “Feeds”). I have given any visitor the power to filter the information on their own. So there is no reason I should have to filter it for them. You can see and subscribe quite easily to only the information that you want. Also, if you are only interested in one category, and you don’t use an RSS Aggregator, then just bookmark the category you like. That way, when you visit the page, that’s all you’ll see of it.
  2. I’d like to encourage other members of my family to write more. Even if it is something quite trivial. Over time, it is kind of nice that I know little subtleties about my friends and family. And when I see them I will have more to talk about with you about as well. If you want to be able to also post entries or photos on this website, just send me a note and I’ll make sure I get you signed up (only open to my immediate and extended family of course).
  3. Over time, I’ll build up a repository of some of my notes and information that were available to me at the time, and be able to look back and see how it may relate to the current situation. This became more prominent when I was cleaning up some of the old posts and it was kind of fun to see what I had written in 2006 or early 2007. Over more time, this will only get more interesting I think. Especially if I make more than one or two posts a month.

Oh well, I hope you guys can live with it. It’s quite possible that it’s also only a phase that I’m going through. Trying to make it more useful both to me and to friends and relatives rather than just sitting idle most of the time. If you have any concerns or suggestions, please feel free to comment or send me a message.

Hopefully it will be over soon. It’s long, it’s hot. It’s really bumming me out. We’ve had a pretty crappy couple of months here at the Oxford Chapter of the Boothe family. It’s not just due to the heat, but that definitely adds to it. I won’t go into any of it here, because it’s depressing and not really something I would post in a public forum anyway.

I know there was a four day stretch where the air conditioner did not shut off at all. Maybe a time or two at night, but other than that, it was going full speed all the time. I am not looking forward to that August Bill.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to dad coming home in a couple of weeks. I know the girls are too. Because they have told me in so many words. It’s one of the things I enjoy most about coming home and seeing them shout my name and run over to give me a hug. It almost makes it worth going to work just to get to come home to that.

I’ve found out that I’m going to have to miss another HOME football game this year. I had already given up that I wouldn’t go to the LSU game just so that I could go to Boardgamegeek.con in Dallas (They really have to got to learn to start scheduling around the SEC Schedules). Anyway. I was cool with that. I hate missing any conference game. Especially when it’s against the Arch Rival.

But now I have learned that I will definitely miss the Alabama game as well. I have to go to a conference in Orlando, FL that week/weekend for work. I had considered coming in on a red-eye on Friday Night and skipping the last day of the conference, but it really is fairly important stuff that they are covering on the last day (for our ERP software) so I felt I really needed to be there.

Oh well. I have a funny feeling that I won’t really miss a bunch this season. But who knows, maybe they can make it up to me by letting me go to Atlanta.

I need to get Val to post with a team outlook this year. I have some preseason stuff for GARC that I will be posting on the Garc website sometime in the next day or two. It was kind of interesting to read.

Alright. Later all. I promise it won’t be quite so long before I make another post.
