Oh boy! I just registered for the Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville Tennessee on April 30, 2011.

It’s less expensive if you register before the end of this month, so I went ahead and did it. I guess if I get hurt or something, I’m just out $90. But I’m doing everything I can to take things slowly and make sure I’m ready without getting injured.

Half Marathon Training Plan

I’m kind of excited! I’ve been training already. Officially according to the training plan above that I’m basically going to follow, I don’t start training until the week after Christmas. But I’ve been running anyway roughly following the One Hour Runner Training plan. I’m already a better runner now than I’m supposed to be at the start of half training. I’ll probably take a very light rest week the week of Christmas, then hit this plan pretty hard after the new year. I’m sure there’s a little lee way built into the plan anyway, I didn’t post the Cross Training stuff, and I plan to keep doing Hill Workouts at least twice a month or so.

I haven’t booked the hotel or anything yet. First need to find out if wife and kids are going to travel to Nashville with me to watch or anything. If they do, we’ll probably stay closer to downtown, if not, I’ll probably stay farther out in the Smyrna area near some friends and catch a ride into town that morning with them.

As this is my first big race, any advice is very much appreciated!

So, Val the Kids and I celebrated National Family Game Night by playing a game of Zooloretto.

It had been a while since we played. It was a close game.

Val 23
Chris & Olivia 21
Sarah 19

Sarah had the biggest Zoo, but also lost the most points for extra animals in the barn. Valerie’s Zoo was small and very efficient.

So, this weekend, I decide to go out and mow our yard and do some other various yardwork.

Thus spurring on this conversation.

Me: I need to mow the yard. Can I borrow your headphones.
Wife: Yeah, *searches for a few minutes*
Me: You find them yet?
Wife: No, can you not find your headphones?
Me: Yeah, mine are on my desk, but I don’t like wearing them when I mow because they get all gross and sweaty.
Wife: *Stops Searching*.

I just don’t get it.

It’s been a while since I tried this, but I’m going to embed a youtube video here. I think.

Hopefully, this comes out right. I would like to do this a little more in the future. Since getting the little pocket HD Video camera, and the new iMovie ’09 I’d like to try putting together some more of these little kinds of videos. Hopefully you guys like them.

So, here’s some video of Sarah & Olivia goofing off outside playing with some sidewalk chalk.

And yes, I know I went a little bit overboard with the transitions and the Titles and stuff, I’m still trying to figure out how to do all that stuff. So indulge me.

Anyway. Enjoy.

Just wanted to drop in and give you guys a few updates on the Southern Chapter of the Boothe Family.

Val and Olivia are heading down to Phenix City, AL to visit mom this weekend. Val’s recruiting at the Smallbore Olympic Trials at Fort Benning. I think she’ll be down there for a couple of days. Sarah would go, but she’s about to finish from the Second Grade. Her last four days are this coming week. So me and Sarah will sit at home cleaning up getting ready for a couple of big events. I’m sure we’ll play a couple of things this week as well. I’ll try to snap a few pics since without Val and Olivia here, I might have a bit of free time.

We’re getting ready for a big Birthday Celebration here. Olivia will turn four June 2nd, and Val’s rented one of those inflatable bouncy castle things for a small party here at the house. So some of Olivia’s school friends will come down to the house and bounce for a few hours. That party barring rain looks like it will happen on June 1st. We’ll try to get some pictures up from that fun time.

I’m having a party next Saturday. Since we have a long weekend coming up. We’re going to throw a Saturday Gaming Party on the 24th. Looks like two or three guys from Memphis, and another couple of guys from Tupelo will game with me and KF this coming Saturday. I hope to get in some good stuff. Wouldn’t mind playing a little Age of Steam, it seems like ages since I’ve played.

Till later.
Chris.
