BootheNet is a project created by Chris Boothe to keep the Boothe Family in touch with each other even though we are spread across the nation.
It is my hope that through continual posting by not only me and my nuclear family, but also the continued reading and posting by other members of the extended family, we can create a central location for all interested parties to go to receive new information on any members of the family.
It is my goal to make this as easy and painless as possible. Any members of the family will be able to request a username and password from me in order to be able to post main posts, as well as comment on the posts of others.
WordPress is the content management software I am currently using to make this happen. This has a built in editor for writing entries that match the theme of the site and will automatically update and archive older entries for the users, it also contains facilities for uploading pictures and data you wish to be able to share with the readers of BootheNet. All you have to do is log in, and type in a message you want everyone to see.
I am currently using Gallery2 to handle pictures, thumbnailing, uploads of pictures to the website, and using wpg2 to embed these pictures into my wordpress posts.
The theme is iTheme by the N. Design Studio. It’s all ajaxy and stuff in that it lets you turn off sidebars you don’t want to see (minimize) or arrange them in the order that you see fit.
