BGG Trade: Sac Noir for Descent: Journeys in the Dark

This is a good trade for me as far as I’m concerned. We’ve been playing a ton of Descent lately. It’s quickly steaming up my five and dime list for 2008, and I don’t see it stopping for a good while.

It’s scratching the old timey RPG itch for me, and I imagine others in my group, while still being fairly quick and tactical as far as movement and fighting the creatures.

The game is not really about building up your character over time, it’s more about using the dungeon features correctly to be able to kill the creatures in the dungeon safely and effectively. It requires that the users all work together quite well that appeals to my game group.

Bausack (in my case Sac Noir) is one I picked up when we had a few more party gamers in our game group. It’s kind of fun, but to be honest, I think as far as dexterity games go, I have the gamut covered (essentially by one game… Crokinole) and I’m just not sure what this one adds for the amount of space that it requires to set up and play.

They both retail for pretty much the same. So I feel like I’m not losing anything in the trade. Sounds pretty good to me. This has no effect on my Boardgame Purge Goals for this year. Though I do have some news coming soon regarding that. (I’m about to make a huge breakthrough, I think).

On a side note. I love the USPS Click and Ship. Why didn’t I do this sooner. No more waiting in line at the post office. Oh wait. I know why. They don’t let you do Parcel Post on Click & Ship. What’s up with that? Priority Mail just costs more and isn’t worth it. Get on that…
